Imagination Library of Waco To Host Volunteer Interest Meeting

Imagination Library of Waco will host a Volunteer Interest meeting for those who would like to help promote the cause of literacy and early childhood education in our community. The organization has a need for people who would like to contribute in a variety of ways. There are meaningful opportunities to participate in community events, to enroll children into the program, to assist in social media outreach and to help with fundraising efforts.

At the Volunteer Interest meeting, board members will share a brief overview of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, what our local affiliate has accomplished to date, plans for 2022 & beyond and the ways in which volunteers can help.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 2 at 7:00pm at 605 Austin Avenue (Startup Waco). Those unable to join in-person can email ImaginationLibraryWaco [@] for a link to join the meeting virtually.

Imagination Library of Waco was started in December 2020 and is the local affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The mission is to ensure that all children in Waco grow up surrounded by books. It’s that simple. Imagination Library of Waco currently serves five zip codes in the heart of Waco, with plans to expand to all of McLennan County. There are currently over 590 children enrolled in the program and to-date, Imagination Library of Waco has gifted over 5,000 books.
